Creativity and discipline may not seem like qualities that go hand in hand, but I think they do! Two of my all-time-favorite-people, who embody both of those traits, are Vince Lombardi & Dr. Seuss. I’ve been called a blend of both … and I LOVE that!

Despite their vastly different styles of expression their messages are quite similar. Below are some quotes from each … different words … same meanings.

LOMBARDI: “A man can be as great as he wants to be. If you believe in yourself and have the courage, the determination, the dedication, the competitive drive and if you are willing to sacrifice the little things in life and pay the price for the things that are worthwhile, it can be done.” = DR. SEUSS: “You have brains in your head. You have feet in your shoes. You can steer yourself in any direction you choose. You’re on your own. And you know what you know. You are the guy who’ll decide where to go.”

DR. SEUSS: “And will you succeed? Yes indeed, yes indeed! Ninety-eight and three-quarters percent guaranteed.” LOMBARDI: “It is essential to understand that battles are primarily won in the hearts of men.”

LOMBARDI:  “In great attempts, it’s glorious even to fail.” = DR. SEUSS: “Don’t cry because it’s over. Smile because it happened.”

DR. SEUSS: “How did it get so late so soon? Its night before its afternoon. December is here before it is June. My goodness how the time has flewn. How did it get so late so soon?” = LOMBARDI: “We didn’t lose the game; we just ran out of time.”
